Museum of Science and Industry

Located in the Second Class Booking Hall, this exhibition describes the construction and early years of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway. 

See the original station bell and sundial, and test your civil engineering skills by completing a double-arch bridge. Mass-produced period prints and souvenirs, such as jugs and medallions, give a sense of the Railway's great popular appeal.

The adjacent First Class Booking Hall has been fitted out to show how it might have looked in 1830.  Study the costumed dummies and find out about the kind of people who would have worked here and passed through as first class passengers.
