Revolution Manchester

Revolution ManchesterA stunning new gallery on the ground floor, Revolution Manchester, will be the showpiece of the redeveloped Main Building, displaying iconic objects that tell the story of the city. This impressive gallery will celebrate Manchester's significant industrial, technological and cultural heritage, as well as looking to the city's future.

A compelling and inspiring introduction to the Museum's key themes and galleries, it highlights Manchester's many 'firsts' and draws visitors in with iconic objects from MOSI's collections and tales of local heroes.

Steve Davies MBE, Director of MOSI, said: "We don't want to give too much away about the content of the new gallery just yet, but there will be some real showstoppers among the exhibits. One of these is a brand new replica of the Avro Type F, the world's first enclosed cabin monoplane, designed and built in Manchester, to demonstrate the city's incredible contribution to aviation history."

Revolution Manchester will be the main starting point for visitors to the Museum, showing the connections between the MOSI's different galleries and buildings. It will also showcase MOSI's role as an "Industrial Powerhouse" in the region, acting as a hub for other heritage attractions in the North West.
