BREEAM environmental performance

BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings. It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the measure used to describe a building's environmental performance.

The 7m redevelopment of MOSI’s Main Building is expected to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating, with a score of 56.36%, as the table of statistics below, shows.  This information can also be found in the downloads section on the right hand side of the page.

The key innovative and
low-impact design features
of the building

As a Grade II Listed Building, the key to the project has been to retain as much of the existing building and its character as possible to minimise the environmental impact of the scheme.

The project is also designed using the latest high-efficiency technologies for mechanical and electrical services.
