Chance to star on MOSI’s big screen
Fans of Manchester will have the chance to say on camera why they love the city so much by sending in their own recorded video clips, which will feature in the new Revolution Manchester gallery at MOSI, alongside celebrities and famous Mancunians in history.
MOSI’s new media wall in the forthcoming Revolution Manchester gallery will have 50 screens
The gallery, which will showcase the city’s greatest innovations, will include a giant 50-screen media wall, where the vox pops will be displayed.
MOSI’s new gallery will include the very latest in digital technology and interactive games that put the visitor right in the centre of the action. Anyone is eligible to send in a short vox pop (around 30 seconds), which includes an introduction of themselves and explains what it is that they love most about Manchester. The video recordings, which will include celebrities, will be broadcast on MOSI’s media wall during the launch of the new gallery next year.
Terry Hudghton, Head of Marketing and Business Development said: “We would like people to send in a video recording of around 30 seconds, which explains what they love about Manchester. It may be a distinctive building, the atmosphere of the city, its architecture, music, sports or people, or a combination of all these. You don’t have to be from the city or even live here – you just have to love it and tell us why! We will show the best vox pops on our media wall during and after the launch event for the new Revolution Manchester gallery.”
MOSI would like to receive vox pops about any reason that people love Manchester, but here are some suggestions:
· Your favourite place in Manchester
· Your love of Manchester history and heritage
· Your favourite Mancunian (past or present)
· What makes Manchester people/the quality of the city different from other cities
· Your favourite band/sports club or celebrity in Manchester
· Your favourite experience in Manchester
· Your favourite object or activity at MOSI
· A good memory anecdote of something that happened in Manchester
Funding for MOSI’s redevelopment project comes from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Garfield Weston, SITA, and a number of other trusts and foundations.
To send in your vox pops please email: images@mosi.org.uk or mail to: Sarah Roe, Marketing Dept, MOSI, Liverpool Road, Manchester M3 4FP.
