Dragons’ Den toys go online at MOSI

MOSI Gifts - Vertical RacerLooking for something to occupy the kids at half term or in the summer holidays? A remote-controlled car that can climb walls, which was designed by Manchester-based Dragons’ Den contestant Vernon Kerswell, is amongst the first items to go on sale in the new online shop at MOSI.

In time for the holidays, MOSI is offering a 15% discount on all online shop products to family readers – until 31 July.

Vernon developed the gadget while he was a student at Manchester Business School and intrigued the Dragons with his ‘Extreme Fliers’ range of toys, which are available at MOSI. The zippy motor of the anti-gravity car features reverse hovercraft technology, which uses air to make it stick onto walls so it doesn’t leave wheel marks.

Extreme Fliers also includes a ‘terror wasp’, which was demonstrated by Theo Paphitis on Dragons’ Den, and is available to view online at www.mosishop.org.uk

The online store features popular products for all the family from MOSI’s gift shop, including chemistry sets, brain-busting puzzles and clocks made from recycled circuit boards.

MOSI director Tony Hill said: “I’m delighted to launch our new online shop and to offer this 15% discount to family readers. Lots of fun science and history-related items are now easily available to anyone who wants an unusual gift, but can’t get to our shop in the Museum.”

The 15% discount for the MOSI online shop is available until 31 July 2010. Readers should quote the code: FAM01.
