Manchester music debate at MOSI
In a rare public appearance, former New Order and Joy Division drummer Stephen Morris is to lead a debate about the Manchester music scene past, present and future at MOSI on Friday November 27 at 7.30pm.
In the Stephen Morris and Friends Manchester Music Debate, he will talk to ex-Hacienda DJ Graeme Park about their own experiences, the Factory days and what that Manchester music scene might look like in years to come.
Morris and Park will be joined by founder of City Life and MD of SKV Communications, Andy Spinoza, and club entrepreneur Ross MacKenzie (owner of One Central Street, Purple Pussycat and Black Dog Ballroom).
The audience will then be invited to ask questions, with Park compèring the debate.
Steve Davies, MBE Director of MOSI, said: “This is the first in a new series of events at the museum and it is fitting that the home of Tony Wilson’s archive hosts this truly Mancunian debate.”
The debate starts at 7.30pm on Friday 27 November, doors and bar open 6.30pm. Ticket prices £5 in advance, £8 on the door, available at www.ticketmaster.co.uk or call 0844 847 2261 (24 hours). Tickets are non-refundable.
