This option is designed for users who are looking for specific items that have to be defined by more or different fields than those available in the Search option. Again, the first screen asks you choose whether you want to search the object collections only, archive collections only, image collections only or all three collections. The research query form includes fields that allow very precise definitions even when used alone. For example, if you already know the registration number of the item that you want information about, then you only need to use that field to get a match.
If there is a pick list for the field, represented by a downward black arrow for a short pick list and an oblique red arrow for a long pick list, choose from the terms that are available. If there is no pick list, the hints alongside the field will provide some guidance and the Tips on using query fields section provides more details on how to get the best results for particular fields. Please note: you will fail to get a match when using fields without pick lists if you have used a term that differs from the terms that we use.
