Session available 1 June 2009 to 17 July 2009.

Weaving KS1

What is fabric? What materials are fabrics made from? After looking, feeling and talking about different fabrics, we focus on cotton. The children then become the warp, weft and shuttle of a human loom to weave a pattern. We conclude with a demonstration of a historic Lancashire power loom in action. A one-hour taught session in the Textiles Gallery. (Max. 30 pupils)

Session available every weekday during school term time.
