Ten steps to organising a visit to MOSI.

1. Find out what the Museum can offer.
MOSI is large museum. We have 13 galleries, housed in five large former railway buildings.

Entry is free but we charge for special exhibitions; taught sessions; tours; presentations and science shows.

2. Make a preliminary visit.
We strongly recommend that you visit MOSI before bringing a class or group so that you can:
• familiarise yourself with the site
• make a risk assessment
• make decisions about the experiences you want to plan for your group or class

3. Decide on the following:
• What date(s) do you want to visit?
• Do you want to book a taught session, tours or presentation?
• What other bookable facilities will you need (i.e. lunch areas, Experiment, textile demo)?

4. Phone our school bookings office on 0161 833 0027
To check availability and make a provisional booking.

Our bookings line is staffed from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Leave a message if we are busy and we will call you back.

5. Complete a booking form
Download your booking form from this page.

Post or fax this to us at least 14 days before the date of your visit.

6. Make sure you receive:
• Booking confirmation (which will include allocation of times for any activities or facilities you have requested).
• Welcome Notes (with more information about the Museum).
• Teachers' notes (for any sessions or tours you have booked).

7. Contact us if you don't get these 7 days before your visit.

8. Timetable your day at the Museum.

You will need to plan your time at the Museum taking into account the times we have allocated for sessions, lunch and Xperiment.

9. Prepare the children and adult helpers.
Let them know:
• your objectives for the visit
• how you have timetabled the visit
• what's expected of them

10. Tell us how your visit went.
Let us know what went well and what you think we could do better.

Your feedback helps us to improve the service we offer our school visitors.
