10 Steps to Organising a Visit
How to arrange and plan a school or group visit to the Museum.
1. Find out what the Museum can offer.
MOSI is large museum.
We have 14 galleries, housed in five large former railway buildings.
Go to Explore MOSI or see our Gallery Guides for Teachers for more info.
Use the menu on the left to find out about our schools' programmes for your Key Stage or you can download a PDF from the menu on the right.
Entry to MOSI is free but we charge for taught sessions; presentations and some temporary exhibitions.
2. Make a preliminary visit.
We strongly recommend that you visit MOSI before bringing a class or group so that you can:
• familiarise yourself with the Museum's large site
• if necessary make a risk assessment
• decide what experiences you want to plan for your group or class
3. Decide on the following:
• What date(s) do you want to visit?
• Do you want to book a taught session or activity?
• Do you want to book a lunch areas and/or a session in Experiment?
4. Phone our school bookings office on 0161 833 0027
To check availability and make a provisional booking. Our bookings line is staffed from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Leave a message if we are busy and we will call you back.
5. Complete a booking form.
Post or fax (0161 832 1511) the booking from to us at least 14 days before the date of your visit.

7. Contact us if you don't get these 7 days before your visit.
8. Timetable your day at the Museum.
You will need to plan your time at the Museum taking into account the times we have allocated for sessions, lunch and Experiment.
