Filming and Photography
The Museum's exterior is perfect for recreating a 19th-century cityscape. Historic buildings with many original features, cobbled pathways and restored railway tracks and platform combine to show Manchester as it really used to be - it can also double for other industrial cities.
Our galleries
and exhibition spaces can also be hired for almost any filming or
photography purpose.
The BBC filmed boxer Ricky Hatton in the MarsQuest Exhibition for 'A Question of Sport' mystery guest feature, and ITV covered the Baby Computer and Power Hall for their programme 'My North West'. Channel 4 have also filmed at MOSI and local TV station, Channel M, film here regularly. Recently we've also had The Gadget Show, National Geographic, Blue Peter and Dragon's Den on-site, as well as Spanish and Japanese TV stations.
You could film an underground scene in our Victorian sewer or turn the station booking hall into a grand tearoom or country house. Our cobbles could be in the East End of London and our 1930s living room could be in Aberdeen. The possibilities are endless.
So, if you're looking for a great filming location, why not get
in touch?
